As the manufacturer, we provide all level of factory calibration services for our products. Every product that we make is, in fact, put through complete calibration before it leaves the factory.

What you get
When you purchase a new Dewetron product, you receive a certificate of compliance with our published specifications.

Subsequent calibration
The normal recommended calibration interval for nearly every product that we make is one year (MSI interfaces are 2 years). We can calibrate your system every year if you like. This is a service that we offer to all Dewetron customers, and it is very affordable, with quick turn-around time.

CAL equipment

If you want to perform your own calibration, and you want to do it in the automated way like we do, then you will need to have the same hardware and software that we use. This is not a trivial investment: it requires a Fluke 5500 calibrator, plus a precision voltage meter, and a variety of hardware interfaces and adapters that we make specifically for this purpose. The requirements for calibrating DAQ and MDAQ modules are different, for example, due to the nature of these signal conditioners, therefore, different equipment is needed based on the hardware that you own.

Entry level - CAL MANUAL & CAL KIT
For performing manual (non-automated) calibration of DAQ modules, we offer the CAL MANUAL at a very affordable price. Even better is the CAL KIT, which is a handy box containing not on the CAL MANUAL, but the various adapters, extenders, and precision components needed to perform any of the manual calibration procedures shown in the CAL MANUAL.

Calibration interval
The recommended calibration interval for all Dewetron products except MSI interfaces is 1 year (12 months). The recommended interval for MSI interfaces is 2 years (24 months).

However, each customer is ultimately responsible for determining the calibration interval that works best for them. Driving factors include:

• Your environment, e.g., very rough environments or high stress usage may indicate a more frequent calibration interval
• Industry rules - certain industries have established calibration practices that should be followed
• Government regulations - certain industries are mandated by local, state or federal laws or regulations regarding calibration

Therefore, please make your own determination about what is required in your case, and Dewetron is available to help you to achieve it.

What needs to be calibrated?
Essentially, every part of the measuring chain is subject to calibration. This includes the sensors (not normally provided by Dewetron), followed by the Dewetron signal conditioners (DAQ, PAD, HSI, MDAQ, MSI, etc.), followed by the A/D converter.

How are various elements calibrated?
This varies according to the element. For example, DAQ modules are meant to be exchanged by the customer at any time, given that they are easily plugged and unplugged from the system, and meant to "hot swap" when the system is powered on. Therefore, DAQ modules are calibrated independently of the system. As a result, you can move a DAQ module from one slot to another and its calibration will follow. However, MDAQ signal conditioning cards are not modular - they are factory installed, organized in blocks of 8 channels per MDAQ-SUB card, and have to be calibrated in conjunction with the system that they are installed in.
