Overview

Robust, for industrial applications
DS NET hardware has been designed for demanding measurements, as found in today`s most industrial measuring and test environments. The range of applications starts with a single stand-alone system, and ranges all the way up to networked dozens to hundreds of channels, in the fields of component testing, engine testing, process performance testing and structural monitoring.

A wide range of available DS-NET modules allows optimized solutions for single task applications, such as dynamic signal acquisition up to 10 kS/s, inputs/outputs for all types of signals, galvanic isolation of the inputs and outputs, and high channel count per system.

Bullet-proof
The programmable intelligence in each module allows the calculation of minima, maxima, data reduction and filtering in each module already. The data buffer memory inside the interface module of 12 MByte guarantees a gap-free data acquisition. This intelligence allows to optimize the data rate for each application.

Black Line and Rack Line versions
DEWETRON DS-NET Hardware is offered in two platforms:
  • The "Black line" (shown and discussed here) is designed for portable and field applications. Each acquisition block can be configured from 1 to 16 acquisition modules (4 to 128 analog channels) depending on the module type.
  • The "Rack Line" (DS-IP-19) is a 19’’ rack solution designed for fixed high channel count applications. These systems are typically installed in 19” rack cabinets. If this is what you are looking for, please check out the DS-IP-19 "Rack line" version.

Module choices and flexibility
A wide range of available modules allows optimized solutions for single task applications, such as dynamic signal acquisition up to 10 kS/s, inputs/outputs for all types of signals, galvanic isolation of the inputs and outputs, and high channel count per system. Modules are available with high density screw terminal connectors, or with DSUB or BNC connectors, depending on the module. With the screw terminal connectors, you can wire up your leads to the mate, and just plug it in. If you change modules, just unplug the mate, replace the module, and plug the mate back in! No re-wiring!

Real-time performance when you really need it
The Microsoft® Windows operating system can never guarantee reaction within a certain time. Whenever there are guaranteed output or alarm functions required, DS NET modules offer you the perfect solution. Even PID control loops are possible with the optional controller module.

Hot swap capability
Modules can be replaced during measurement without pre-programming. Setup is loaded from the modules’ backplane.

Housings


The Black Line housing can be freely configured for 1 to 16 measurement slots. The modules are inserted from the front side. Modules can be replaced anytime - even during measurement! - and each module can be different, or all the same. There are modules with up to 8 channels each! Expansion via LabVIEW
One of the best features of DEWESoft is that you can use it as a powerful software "engine," where it will effortlessly control all of the hardware in the entire Dewetron data acquisition system... then you can program in a tool like LabVIEW from National Instruments. This allows you to create complete closed-loop systems, including hardware-in-the-loop systems and ATP - automated test procedures. Using the openly available library of COM and D/COM function calls, you can control hundreds of DEWESoft functions at the lowest level, creating your own application for any purpose.
