What is Flexpro?
What happens when you come to the end of the analysis capabilities that are built into DEWESoft, but you still need more capabilities? Many engineers rely on Matlab, because it is so powerful. And 100% for sure it is a great tool, and powerful indeed. But there is a rather steep learning curve associated with any program like that. Hey, if you already know how to program within Matlab, you should keep using it! DEWESoft has a great export directly to that format, built right in.

But if you don’t have a tool, and have been perhaps struggling with Excel due to its very limited record lengths, we recommend Flexpro. It has real analysis power, no record length limitations, and a user interface very reminiscent of Excel, so you will be up and running with it very fast.

There are many graphical analysis programs out there, but new FlexPro 8 manages all of your analyses and presentations as a dynamic object network, so each analysis you create can be used on any number of data sets – without programming! That’s why FlexPro is the data analysis and presentation software of choice for engineers, scientists, and anyone who works with technical data sets.

FlexPro's elegant, object-oriented interface RTEmagicC_p1.gif is designed to make your work easier. FlexPro manages all your data, analyses, and presentations in a powerful project database that is displayed within the FlexPro Explorer.

Here, within the familiar, structured Explorer environment, you can import and organize data from practically any source, then analyze and view your results. Each object window is tabbed, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for – no more time wasted moving and minimizing overlapping windows to locate objects lost behind them.

FlexPro organizes your whole project database into an easy-to-navigate, on-screen filing system. You can organize all your data sets, analyses and presentations into any number of folders and subfolders, keeping you firmly in control. You can use the comprehensive search function RTEmagicC_p2.gif to sift through your accumulated data. FlexPro will easily handle databases of any size – the only limitation is the size of your hard drive! Yet however big your data set, you’ll be amazed at how quickly FlexPro processes it.

The Hierarchy View RTEmagicC_p3.gif provides you with an overview of the structure of your analyses.

The content of each data set, graph, or analysis is always visible in the preview window RTEmagicC_p4.gif. Simply drag-&-drop to copy, move, and link objects, to import data or to add a new curve or a new axis. Using the properties window RTEmagicC_p5.gif it’s easy to modify and adjust attributes such as font size, color, line width, etc.. You can even change the attributes of multiple objects in just one step. Multi-level undo/redo lets you recover from mistakes and accidents.

FlexPro is the ideal software for analyzing data from Excel RTEmagicC_p6.gif. In addition to importing spreadsheet data, FlexPro allows you to open your Excel workbook from within FlexPro itself. The full power of FlexPro is now at your command.

You can use one-click macro recording p7 and playback to automate procedures, or (with FlexPro Professional) take advantage of the integrated VBA development environment to build your own custom automated analysis application with FlexPro.

Since FlexPro supports almost any binary file format you are likely to come across, you can import data from a huge range of measurement instruments and software packagesp8 . The latter include any ODBC compliant database, most popular data acquisition programs including LabVIEW, DASYLab, DaqView and Agilent VEE, and a wealth of other applications including SPSS, SYSTAT and MATLAB.

When you want to import data from any other program that generates plain ASCII text, FlexPro’s text data import wizard automatically analyzes ASCII files to provide you with the most efficient way to import the data. You can even assign specific settings to a file extension (for example .dat) so that all future imports of similar files are automated.

FlexPro also offers a variety of export options, including various text, vector and bitmap formats. You can also use OLE to copy FlexPro objects to other applications. Alternatively, you can export complete analyses to HTML format and publish them on the Internet or to your intranet.

Special LabVIEW, DASYLab and Agilent VEE interface modules make FlexPro your ideal partner. For instance, you can use the FlexPro VI library for LabVIEW to transfer data directly to FlexPro databases and to carry out automated analyses.

FlexPro offers common analysis procedures as analysis objects. To create an analysis object, just select the data to be processed and then choose your analysis method! Although analysis objects are formulas created in the FPScript analysis language, you can parameterize RTEmagicC_p9_01.gif them at any time and otherwise treat them just like data sets. FlexPro’s easy-to-use Analysis Wizard integrates analysis and presentation of your data in a single, streamlined process.

An important intermediate step when analyzing time series is event isolation. FlexPro lets you mark events interactively or automatically detect them using cursors RTEmagicC_p10_01.gif. The Event Isolation FP8BrochureFootNote11 analysis object is designed to help you find bursts, level crossings, slopes or maxima in different signals. You can logically link multiple events or search for sequences of different events.

FlexPro's new non-linear curve and peak fitting  routines include more than 160 built-in models and support for FPScript based custom models FP8BrochureFootNote12. The integrated model ranking helps you choose the right model. Beside the model parameters, FlexPro offers you a choice of more than 20 additional results, e.g. confidence bands or the covariance matrix.
You can present your data and analysis results in a wide range of 2D and 3D charts, in tables or embedded in text. FlexPro’s Diagram Wizard makes light work of choosing the appropriate graph type, and it’s easy to edit and customize chart attributes FP8BrochureFootNote13. The new dimension curves function in FlexPro Standard lets you highlight important features in your diagram FP8BrochureFootNote14.
