Power Measurement software


DEWESOFT-OPT-POWER

This software option turns your Dewetron system into a power analyzer, which can directly measure power factor, reactive power, the exact power line frequency (witihn 0.001 Hz), and much more. Supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz, 16.7, 400 and 800 Hz, plus DC and variable frequency!

Standard features include the calculation of power factor, active and reactive power, apparent power, harmonics, interharmonics, THD, symmetric components, flicker... and more! The ability to record continuously or to trigger from any power parameter (power factor, harmonics, et al), creates a power analyzer which is virtually unlimited in its applications. You also get some new display elements like a vector scope and harmonics monitor.

Sound Level Meter software

Sound level math section allows calculating typical parameters for sound level measurements from a single microphone. It allows DEWESoft to be used as the typical sound level meter with A, B, C or D weighting. With appropriate hardware (24-bit ADC) it can easily fulfill all the requirements for a Class I sound level meter. This option is included within the DSA version of DEWESoft.

Torsional and Rotational Vibration

Torsional/rotational vibe
This module calculates the torsion angle and angular vibration measured from two encoders mounted on each side or the shafts. The difference between the rotations of each side is the torsion twist of the measured shaft. Torsional vibration can be an input for order tracking to give clear idea about dynamic behavior of a shaft. Several torsional vibration modules can be combined to measure complicated transmissions. This option is included within the DSA version of DEWESoft.

Human Vibration Analysis

HBV
Human vibration is a measurement of the effect of vibrations on the human body. Especially on work places exposed to vibrations there is a big chance of permanent damage to some parts of the human body. Imagine a man using a jack hammer all day, or a meat cutter, or driving a construction vehicle. This human vibration module provides measurements to be able to judge the risk of such damage, to the whole body, or the head, arms, etc. It is compliant with ISO 2631-1, ISO 8041 and ISO 2631-5. This option is included within the DSA version of DEWESoft.

Frequency Response Function

The FRF add-on allows to measure transfer functions of mechanical structures with an impulse hammer or shaker excitation. The software allows creating or importing geometry of the structure for quick visualization of measurement points. The chosen natural frequencies can be observed as an animation of the structure. Measured data can be exported as UNV files, which are easily imported by modal analysis packages. It is also used to define transfer functions of electrical circuits like amplifiers or filters. This option is included within the DSA version of DEWESoft.

CAN BUS interface

CAN BUS topology
DEWESoft supports Dewetron Orion CAN cards, Vector, Softing and National instruments on PCI, PCMCIA or USB interfaces. CAN bus is today present in cars, trucks, boats, tanks, tractors, harvesters and basically anything which has a modern engine built in.

It is very robust two wire interface and is therefore used also as the interface for many different sensors, especially in the automotive industry, such as gyro platform, speed sensors, torque wheel, pressure, flow transducers and others.

The best way to get CAN interfaces on your Dewetron system is to select an ORION series A/D card which has 2 CAN busses on it! Every ORION card has this option, and if your system has more than one ORION card, then it is possible to have more CAN busses per system. Up to 8 are supported.

ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 interface

Many Dewetron systems are used in the air, recording vital data during flight testing. And the most important data busses for this kind of work are ARINC 429 and MIL STD 1553. Dewetron offers the hardware interface card, which is a PCI format card that can be installed into nearly any Dewetron system. In addition, the software add-on to support it is needed. This add-on provides the setup of all your ARINC 429 transmit and receive channels, and/or 1553 parameters, on-line visualization, and storage to disk.

Once input, ARINC 429 and 1553 channels are just like any others within your Dewetron system - you can show them, store them, filter them, use them within mathematical formulae, trigger from them, and more.

Combustion analyzer instrument

Today’s engines can’t be developed without the measurement of combustion parameters. Engine speed, cylinder pressure, as well as other parameters like needle lift, intake pres-
sures and others are the base for calculating combustion parameters like maximum pressure, position of maximum pressure, pressure derivative, heat release, cylinder temperature, knocking and others.

RPM data can be acquired from virtually any sensor in the car or a special externally mounted encoder, therefore the same system can be used within the test bed or in the vehicle during normal driving.

Telephone Circuit Noise

The psophometer is a highly specialized DEWESoft plugin for measuring the noise in telephone circuits. Psophometric weighting filters are compliant with CCITT 1951 and CCITT P53.

Combined with D/A hardware, the FG option adds a multichannel function generator to your Dewetron system, which can be used to generate sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, white or pink noise and arbitrary signal loaded from the file. The frequency, amplitude, phase angle and offset can be changed on the fly without a single glitch on the signals. When a function generator drives a shaker, it is very important that it does not induce any spikes. The frequency can be changed in 0.1 mHz steps, so it can be adjusted precisely to your needs.

SCRAMNET card interface

Developed for NASA, the SCRAMNET add-on software option provides support for the Curtis Wright SRAMNet interface card. This robust interface is a essentially a pool of “reflective memory” which any compliant device can read from. The point is that this data is extremely high speed, and can be propagated throughout an entire facility. Dewetron developed this interface so that NASA could tap into their existing SCRAMNet topology and extract chosen parameters for display and recording in DEWESoft. Just add the Curtis Wright card and this option to your Dewetron system.
